Telehealth

All sessions are currently conducted through telehealth. We will use a HIPAA compliant confidential videoconferencing platform called Doxy.Me. It is easy to use and only requires a web browser and internet connection. It can be used with a computer or cell phone.

If there are issues with Doxy.Me, we may also use Sessions by PsychologyToday, Zoom or switch to a phone call.

Payment Options
Insurance

My fee is $175 per 55-minute individual session and $190 per 55-minute couples session. Fees are payable by credit card. Payment is due at the time of the appointment.

As an out-of-network provider, my services may be reimbursed in full or in part by your insurance. I will provide a statement of services (AKA a “superbill”) on request for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please check your insurance coverage carefully. Some questions you may want to ask are:

  • What are my mental health insurance benefits?

  • Does my insurance cover a provider outside of network?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • How many sessions per year does my insurance cover?

  • Do I need a referral from my primary care physician to start therapy?

  • What is my deductible and has it been met?

GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE

If you are paying out of pocket, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.  You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.  You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

If you need to cancel a session, please give at least 24 hours notice.

If you miss a session without giving 24 hour notice, you are still responsible for the agreed upon cancellation fee.

By law, the relationship between client and therapist is confidential. I do my utmost to protect your privacy and confidentiality. However, there are certain circumstances in which confidentiality must be broken:

  • Reasonable suspicion of child or elder abuse, in which case I am required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.

  • If a client is threatening to harm someone else, I must take steps to notify the police and warn the victim(s)

  • If a client is threatening to harm himself or herself, I must take steps to ensure their safety.
